ProCare Specialist Health Services is the surgical practice of Dr. André Vaccianna, General and Laparoscopic Surgeon, at Unit 2B, 17 Ruthven Road, Kingston 10, Jamaica. In this policy, “ProCare”, “we” and “us” mean the practice.
We are responsible for the personal information you share with us through this website, by phone or by email. We handle it in line with the Data Protection Act, 2020 of Jamaica.
This policy explains what information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have.
Information you give us during a consultation, examination or treatment forms part of your medical record. That record is handled under our clinical confidentiality duties as well as this policy.
We only ask for what we need to respond to you and arrange your care.
Some details you share with us, such as your reason for visiting, are health information, which the law treats as sensitive. We use them only to arrange and provide your care.
Please do not send detailed medical history, test results or images through the website forms. Dr. Vaccianna will go through everything with you in person at your consultation.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
We use your information because you have asked us to contact you or arrange care, because it is needed to provide that care, because we have legal and professional duties as a medical practice, or because you have given your consent. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us.
We keep enquiries and appointment requests only for as long as we need them to respond to you and arrange your care. If you become a patient, your information becomes part of your medical record, which we keep for the period required by Jamaican law and professional guidance. When information is no longer needed, we delete or securely destroy it.
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information, including secure (encrypted) connections on this website, limited staff access and confidentiality duties for everyone on our team. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, which is another reason we ask you not to share detailed medical details through the forms.
Under the Data Protection Act, 2020 you have rights over your personal information. You can ask us to:
